LG Electronics has some big plans for CES 2016.
The company will unveil a new lineup of monitors and laptops in Las Vegas next month, including new 21:9 ultra-wide monitors featuring the company's IPS display technology and quad-HD resolution of 3,440 by 1,440. They will sport Thunderbolt 2 connectivity and come in 29 and 34 inches, curved or flat.
LG will also show off 27- and 32-inch 4K Ultra HD monitors, the UD88 and UD68 series, featuring USB Type C port connectivity. Both support simultaneous laptop charging and data transfers at USB 3.0 speeds with a single power cord.
In addition to the monitors, LG's Gram line of laptops is getting an update. At the company's CES booth, attendees will find an LG Gram 15, a super-light PC featuring a 15.6-inch display and a sixth-generation Intel Core processor, running on Windows 10.
While most companies wait until they get to Vegas to reveal their latest gadgets, LG has a habit of jumping the gun. It showed off its new G Pad tablet, Rolly Keyboard, and LG Watch Urbane Luxe ahead of this fall's IFA trade show in Berlin, for example, though we could see a few surprises next month, too. Last year's big reveal from LG at CES was the G Flex 2 smartphone.
