Introduction

I'm still a fan of using Remote Desktop when necessary on mobile devices. For the past two years I have owned a Nexus 7 tablet, and it gets A LOT of use. I would say I use it for about 70% or more of my personal browsing and general use, I really don't open my laptop much if I don't have to, except for when I use RDP.
"Why?" you might ask....well, because RDP apps generally suck on Android devices. Sure there is TeamViewer, VNC or (I can't stand this one) LogMeIn, which all have decent apps, but they cost a lot of money when RDP is free.
I was super excited when Microsoft finally released a RDP client for Android. Then Pertino released their new Android client and UI.
Oh Joy!
RDP is super easy with Pertino and Microsoft RDP for Android. Here's a simple tutorial on how to use them together.

Steps (10 total)

1

Get Pertino for Android

If you haven't already, be sure to create an account with Pertino. Personal accounts still get up to 3 devices free.
3

Ready? Let's Start Pertino

With Pertino installed, you should now be able to open the app and sign in with your account.
4

Signed In - Devices

You should now see a screen with three selections: People, Devices, & Files. Choose Devices.
5

Choose a Pertino Connected Device

You should now see all of your online devices. Choose the device you wish to access using RDP.
6

Enter Credentials (Or Not)

You will be prompted with a request for credentials from the Microsoft RDP app. You can just skip this part and choose "Connect". You can enter credentials like you normally would on the next screen.
7

Enter Credentials (For Real This Time)

Enter your credentials now and choose connect when ready.
8

Security Warning

Yeah, you trust it! It is your system right?
9

Sucess!

If you have everything configured correctly you should now be using RDP over your Pertino VPN connection on Android.
10

Congratulations!

You are #Winning.

Conclusion

I decided to make this tutorial to demonstrate how easy it is to use RDP on Android with the help of Pertino. I hope that you find it an easy to follow guide and that it helps you get even more out of your Pertino VPN(s).
