Introduction

Manage the Dell BIOS settings and automatically deploy them to your workstations.

Steps (5 total)

1

Download and install Dell Command | Configure

Go to http://en.community.dell.com/techcenter/enterprise-client/w/wiki/7532.dell-command-configure and download Dell Command | Configure setup and install on your workstation
2

Launch Dell Command | Configure

Launch Dell Command | Configure and select Create Muiltplatform Package and configure the desired settings.
3

Configure the BIOS settings

The settings I configured for my environment was:
1. BIOS Password
2. Wake on LAN
3. Configured the boot order to remove unwanted devices
4

Create the Package

You will want to export the config so that you can open this package to make changes in the future and you will need to export the EXE that will get deployed to your workstations. Save these files to your network share where you deploy your software from.
5

Deploy the EXE

I like to use PDQ Deploy to distribute my software installations. You can easily deploy this EXE with PDQ Deploy no switches are needed it will automatically install in the background of the users computer. Alternatively you could also deploy this with group policy.
