Google stopped support for their Chrome web browser on RHEL 6.x. Fortunately, there is a workaround of sorts in place via a script created by a gentleman named Richard Lloyd.
The following steps instruct on how to make use of Mr. Lloyd's script and successfully install Google Chrome Web browser on CentOS 6.

# chmod u+x install_chrome.sh && ./install_chrome.sh
# google-chrome &
Conclusion
That's it! You should now have a fully functioning Chrome web browser on your CentOS 6 Desktop. It can be launched from the terminal as demonstrated above, or you should be able to browse to it via the Applications menu.
